Nigerian Air Force Helicopter Crashes in Kaduna State

In the early hours of Monday, a helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reportedly crashed in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In the early hours of Monday, a helicopter belonging to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) reportedly crashed in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The incident occurred in Taimi village, near Rigachikun, close to the headquarters of the Nigerian Air Force Air Training Centre in Mando.

According to local sources who spoke to Channels Television, the crash happened under circumstances that are yet to be clarified. Witnesses described hearing a loud noise before seeing the aircraft plummet to the ground. The exact time of the crash has not been specified, but it is understood to have occurred before dawn.

In response to the incident, a team of Air Force personnel from the nearby Air Training Centre and the 401 Flying School swiftly arrived at the scene. They cordoned off the crash site to secure the area, allowing emergency rescue operations to commence and preventing unauthorized access.

The presence of military personnel suggests an immediate investigation is underway to determine the cause of the crash.

As of now, the Nigerian Air Force Management has not issued an official statement regarding the incident. Details about the helicopter’s mission, the number of personnel on board, and their condition remain undisclosed. It is unclear if there were any casualties or injuries resulting from the crash.

Local authorities and emergency services are on high alert, providing necessary support and assistance. The proximity of the crash site to the Air Training Centre is expected to facilitate a thorough investigation by NAF officials.
