Nigerian Air Force Acquires 12 Advanced Aircraft and 63 New Aircraft Over Three Years

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has made significant strides in enhancing its operational capabilities, having acquired 12 advanced aircraft in the past year and a total of 63 brand-new aircraft over the last three years. This announcement was made by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, during the NAF Training, Operations, and Safety Seminar for 2024, held in Abuja.

In his address, Air Marshal Abubakar highlighted the following key points:

The NAF received 12 advanced aircraft, which include:

  – Two KA-360i aircraft

  – Four DA-62 aircraft

  – Four T-129 helicopters

  – Two AW-109 Trekker helicopters

The Air Force is anticipating additional deliveries before the end of the year, which are expected to further enhance air operations across the nation.

Abubakar emphasized the NAF’s commitment to implementing measures that prioritize civilian safety during operations, ensuring that military activities do not compromise the safety of the populace.

These developments reflect the NAF’s ongoing efforts to modernize its fleet and improve its operational readiness, supported by the current administration’s focus on strengthening national defense capabilities.
