NFF to Inaugurate Futsal and Beach Soccer Committees today

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, is set to inaugurate the Federation’s Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee on Thursday at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, is set to inaugurate the Federation’s Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee on Thursday at the NFF Secretariat in Abuja.

This newly formed committee will be chaired by Otuekong Nse Essien, with Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf (Fresh), the Chairman of Chairmen of Nigeria Football, serving as the vice chairman.

The committee’s members include Aminu Mohammed Inuwa, Hon. Suleiman Yahaya-Kwande, Hajji Liameed Gafaar, Mr. Richard Jideaka, and Yabagi Alhaji Baba. Abubakar D. Umar (Barde) has been appointed as the secretary.

Tasked with overseeing all futsal and beach soccer activities in the country, the Futsal and Beach Soccer Sub-Committee will be responsible for organizing competitions and addressing all matters related to these sports.

Nigeria has a strong history in beach soccer, with the Supersand Eagles having won the Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations in 2007 and 2009. They also reached the quarter-finals of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy 13 years ago, highlighting Nigeria’s prowess on the continental and global stages.

In related news, the Confederation of African Football recently conducted the draw for this year’s Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series. The Supersand Eagles are set to face Mauritania in a home-and-away series next month. Fourteen countries will participate in the qualifiers, with the seven winners joining hosts Egypt at the finals.
