The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) says it has disbursed N1,326,550,000 to the University of Lagos, (UNILAG), in line with the approved schedule for the 2025/2026 academic session.
According to the director of strategic communication at NELFUND, Mrs. Oseyemi Oluwatuyi, explained that the disbursement captures 6,308 eligible UNILAG students who have met all requirements under the student loan programme.
Mrs. Oluwatuyi noted that, student beneficiary lists are generated through verified institutional data submitted during the application and validation process,
maintaining that once disbursement has been made to an institution, students should be able to register and access classes without delays.
The Director communications while quoting the Managing Director of NELFUND, Mr. Akintunde Sawyerr, reaffirmed the funds commitments to transparency and students welfare stressed that a strong working relationship has been bridged with partner institutions to resolves any administrative gaps and ensure that no eligible students is disadvantaged.
She urged students and stakeholders to rely on official communications from the Fund and their institutions and assures the public that necessary steps are being taken to resolve any matter swiftly.
