Serie A champions Napoli have released an official statement on the controversial TikTok video involving their Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.

Napoli stated they did not mean any harm with the message, and they never wanted to offend or mock Victor Osimhen, who is a treasure of this club. They also presented proof of that as saying the refused every offer they received for the striker’s transfer abroad.

Osimhen was infuriated after a video was posted on the club’s TikTok account this week, in which he was mocked for missing a penalty in a Napoli’s 0-0 draw against Bologna last weekend.

Osimhen’s agent Roberto Calenda threatened to take legal action against Napoli following the incident, and the player also took down all images of him in Napoli’s jersey on his social media accounts.
