Mudashiru Obasa Reinstated as Lagos Assembly Speaker after Meranda’s Resignation

Mudashiru Obasa has been reinstated as the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, after Mojisola Meranda stepped down from the role with immediate effect during yesterday’s plenary.

Responding after his reinstatement, Obasa thanked his colleagues for their support and acknowledged the role of the media in shaping the crisis that befell the Assembly.

Reading her resignation letter earlier, Merandamaintained that her resignation was to give peace a chance which is integral to the state, and thanked her colleagues and staff of the assembly for their support.

The new principal of the House are Mojisola Merandaas Deputy Speaker; Majority leader, TemitopeAdewale; Deputy Majority Leader, Richard Kasumu; Chief whip, Fatai Mojeed and Deputy chief whip, David Setonji.
