Manchester United to play Manchester City in FA Cup final

Manchester United had to battle their way on penalties against Coventry City to make the FA Cup final after squandering a 3-goal lead.

Erik ten Hag’s men won the shootout at Wembley 4-2, with Rasmus Hojlund scoring the decisive spot kick after the teams were level at 3-3 after extra time.

The red devils will now play rivals Manchester City, who marginally saw off Chelsea by a lone goal from Bernando Silva on Saturday.

In the meantime, the English FA has announced that FA Cup replays will be scrapped from the first round next season as part of a six-year agreement with the Premier League to strengthen the domestic competition.

The FA added that all FA Cup rounds will be played on weekends from next term, with the fourth and fifth rounds, plus quarter-finals, to be held exclusive of Premier League matches.
