Harry Maguire says Manchester United are advancing talks over a new deal that would extend his stay by two years, with an option for a third, ahead of his current contract expiry after the 2025/26 season.
The 33-year-old defender has driven United’s climb to third place, helping the team stay unbeaten in seven league matches since Michael Carrick switched to a 4-2-3-1 system following Ruben Amorim’s February exit.
Maguire has openly backed Carrick to secure the permanent role, even as the club considers Luis Enrique and Julian Nagelsmann.
He has also urged the club to strengthen the squad in the summer transfer window as United aim to sustain their momentum and challenge for the title.
