LASTMA Warns Filmmakers Against Unauthorized Use of Uniforms in Skits

The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has issued a stern warning to skit makers and filmmakers against the unauthorized use of its uniforms, affiliated colors, kits, and accoutrements in their productions.

Mr. Olalekan Bakare-Oki, the General Manager of LASTMA, emphasized this directive, highlighting the potential legal consequences for individuals or entities found violating these regulations.

In a statement released on Thursday in Lagos, Bakare-Oki underscored the importance of obtaining proper authorization from the government before incorporating LASTMA’s distinctive elements into any film or skit.

The statement, signed by Mr. Taofiq Adebayo, Director of the Public Affairs and Enlightenment Department of LASTMA, reiterated the agency’s commitment to upholding its reputation and integrity.

Bakare-Oki expressed disappointment at the derogatory portrayal of LASTMA in some movies and skits, emphasizing the need for greater respect and accuracy in the depiction of the institution.

Furthermore, Bakare-Oki highlighted the potential societal impact of regulating the possession and usage of LASTMA uniforms and accoutrements in films.

He expressed confidence that enforcing these regulations would help maintain order and prevent the proliferation of unauthorized LASTMA-related materials within the community.
