Lagos to Close Independence, Marina-CMS Bridge for Repairs in Two Months.

The Lagos State Government has announced a diversion plan ahead of emergency repairs on Independence/Mekwen Bridge, inbound the Marina/CMS route.

The State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Oshiyemi, confirmed the diversion in a statement yesterday, which noted that the diversion will begin on March 19 and last until May 26.

During repairs, the statement says the road from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) through Bonny Camp Bridge to Independence Bridge will be closed to vehicles, likewise the service lane at Bonny Camp Underpass Bridge inbound Independence Bridge, will not be accessible to motorists.

He added that the service lane from Ahmadu Bello Way to Ozumba Mbadiwe Avenue will however remain open to traffic.
