Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu will inaugurate the state’s long-awaited red line rail project on February 29.
The announcement was made during the launch of the Lagos market trader money program, which aims to benefit 15,000 beneficiaries.
During the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized the significance of the red line rail project, stating that it would revolutionize public transportation in Nigeria.
The project, which has been in the works for over 20 years, is expected to significantly alleviate traffic congestion in the state and provide commuters with a more efficient mode of transportation.
The red line train will cover key areas in Lagos, including Agbado, Iju, Agege, Mushin, Oshodi, Yaba, and Ebute Meta. This extensive route is poised to enhance connectivity within the state and improve accessibility to various destinations for residents and visitors alike.
Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his appreciation for the collaboration with the China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC), the company responsible for executing the red line rail project. He commended their dedication and efforts in bringing the project to fruition, highlighting the transformative impact it will have on transportation infrastructure in Lagos.
