Lagos State Government Launches 72-Hour Shopping Festival at Mobolaji Johnson Arena

The Lagos State Government has announced the commencement of a 72-hour non-stop shopping extravaganza, known as the Lagos State Shopping Festival, which kicks off today, Monday, December 23.

The Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Idris Aregbe, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday. He revealed that the festival, set to take place at the iconic Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, is being organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture in collaboration with Chain Reaction Ltd.

The Lagos Shopping Festival will bring together over 500 vendors, offering an exciting blend of local artisans and internationally acclaimed brands. The festival will showcase a wide range of products, including fashion, electronics, beauty items, home decor, and gourmet food.

In addition to the diverse shopping opportunities, attendees can look forward to live performances, entertainment, food stalls, and other attractions designed to create a vibrant and engaging atmosphere for visitors of all ages.

Aregbe emphasized that the event aims to promote Lagos as a global shopping destination while supporting local businesses and boosting the state’s economy during the festive season. “This festival represents the spirit of Lagos — creativity, innovation, and diversity. It is a platform to showcase the best of Lagos and offer residents and visitors a memorable shopping and entertainment experience,” he said.

The festival is expected to attract thousands of shoppers and tourists, further cementing Lagos’ reputation as a cultural and commercial hub in Africa.
