The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Saturday, announced the reopening of the Apongbon bridge section of Eko Bridge in the state, over 15 months after it was closed due to an unfortunate fire outbreak at the market in that axis and its environs.
According to the governor, the repair would continue on the infrastructure along the stretch of Apongbon through Alaka, which would lead to intermittent closures in the coming months.
Earlier Federal Controller Works, Lagos, Engineer Korede Kesha also called on illegal occupants at under the bridges to evacuate with immediate effect, warning that the federal ministry of works has received the support of the Lagos State Government to dislodge occupants, just as she called on Lagosians to protect National assets.
