Lagos Governor Launches Red Line Rail for Commercial Operations; Pledges More Infrastructure

Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has launched the commercial operations of the Red Line rail that will move about 500,000 Lagosian daily on the corridor.

In a statement, Sanwo-Olu said the train service will run from Agbado to Oyingbo, adding that the government will continue to ramp up the schedule, with more coaches would be added for both the Blue and Red rail lines next year.

Daily passenger services will depart from Agbado at 6:00 AM, with the second train leaving Iju Station at 7:30 AM. 

At the commencement of the commercial drive, it was announced that a trip from Oyingbo to Agbado will cost one thousand five hundred thousand naira.
