Lagos ends 25% fare reduction on state-owned transport services

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) says the 25 per cent discount on fares for regulated public bus, ferry and train services has ended.

The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) says the 25 per cent discount on fares for regulated public bus, ferry and train services has ended.

Recall that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on February 23, announced a 25 per cent reduction on the fares to mitigate the impact of the removal of petrol subsidy on Lagos residents.

However, LAMATA updated on its official X handle at the weekend that from today Monday June 3, fares on all regulated transport services in the state will return to the original 100 per cent.
