Vardy Joins Burnley

Burnley have announced the signing of experienced English forward Jamie Vardy on a contract that will run until the end of the current season.

The 39-year-old striker joins the Clarets after spending last season in Serie A with Cremonese, bringing a wealth of experience and a proven goalscoring record to Turf Moor.

Vardy is renowned for his explosive pace, clinical finishing and relentless work ethic — qualities Burnley will hope can make a difference during the campaign.

Burnley Head Coach Nicky Hayen welcomed the veteran forward, highlighting his experience and leadership as important additions to the squad.

“We are delighted to welcome Jamie to Burnley FC. His experience and leadership will be invaluable to our squad, and we believe he can make a significant impact on our campaign,” Hayen said.

“Jamie has a proven track record, and we are looking forward to seeing him in a Claret shirt.”

Vardy, who established himself as one of the Premier League’s most prolific strikers during his time with Leicester City, said he was excited to begin a new chapter with Burnley.

The former Premier League striker praised the club’s history and passionate supporters, saying they deserved a team that represented both the club and the town.

“I’m really happy to now be here at Burnley FC,” Vardy said.

“This club has a proper footballing history and passionate fans who deserve a team that represents them and their town.”

Vardy added that he was eager to get onto the pitch and play his part in Burnley’s campaign.

“I can’t wait to get going on the pitch and help the team move in the right direction.”
