The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) and WAEC have agreed on a ₦4,000 one-time fee for candidates who need to verify their O’Level results during admission into Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The two bodies said the arrangement will cut repeated verification costs and reduce delays for admission seekers who previously had to verify the same academic credentials with different institutions.

In a joint statement signed by WAEC’s Head of Public Affairs, Moyosola Adesina, they said the partnership puts candidates first by “cutting unnecessary costs, reducing administrative stress and simplifying the admission process” while maintaining the security of academic records.

Candidates must make the payment through the approved JAMB Verification Service platform. JAMB and WAEC stressed that applicants should not pay the ₦4,000 fee directly to tertiary institutions.

The examination and admission bodies also directed institutions to use the verified results supplied through JAMB for screening and admission processing. They said schools must not request another payment to verify the same WAEC result, preventing candidates from paying multiple verification fees for one academic record.
