INEC Chairman Presents ICCES Code of Conduct For Security Personnel on Electoral Duty

The INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu has also presented Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement for Security personnel on duty, to the Inter-agency Consultative Committee on Election Security (ICCES) jointly signed by National Security Adviser Co-Chair, ICEES Retired Major General Babagana Monguno, Inspector-General of Police Usman Alkali Baba and INEC Chairman.
Prof Yakubu who expressed satisfaction with the Assurance received so far from the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies, said the Code of Conduct is essential to the development, deepening and consolidation of democracy and governance.

In his remarks, National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, represented by Sanusi Galadima, noted that there had been rising protests as some Nigerians were exploiting the current situation in the country, assuring Nigerians of free, fair and credible election.
