Inspector-General of Police(IGP) Olatunji Disu has urged Nigerians to reject ethnic and religious profiling, stressing that crime has no ethnicity and terrorism has no religion.

Disu made the call at the North-West Security Summit in Gusau, Zamfara State, where he advocated a coordinated, intelligence-driven approach to tackling insecurity across the region.

He urged security agencies to target criminal networks, sponsors, arms suppliers and other facilitators, regardless of their ethnic, religious or political affiliations.

The IGP also called for stronger intelligence sharing, cooperation among states, joint security operations, tighter border control and community involvement.

He said effective early-warning systems and closer collaboration between security agencies and local communities remain essential to preventing attacks.

Disu reaffirmed the police commitment to technology-driven policing, rapid response, intelligence gathering and stronger partnerships with communities and other security agencies.
