House of Reps Urge NERC to Reject Proposed Increase in Electricity Tariffs

Members of the House of Representatives, has asked the National Electricity Regulatory Commission not to approve the “proposed increase” in electricity tariffs.

The lower legislative chamber passed the resolution during yesterday’s plenary session, following the adoption of a motion sponsored by Sani Madaki, a member of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) from Kano.

In another development, Hon. Abubakar Aliyu Iliya (Katsina State) in a motion of urgent public importance expressed the displeasure over multiple attacks, shootings, killings and kidnapping of people of his constituents in Batsari and Danmusa Local Government areas of Katsina State.

He prayed that those responsible in maintaining law and order, lives and properties do more by adopting new Security Tactics and strategy in tackling the insecurities in these Local Government areas of Katsina State.
