Golden Eaglets qualify for semifinals in WAFU B U-17 tournament to face Cote D’Ivoire

Nigerian Golden Eaglets earned a qualification spot for the 2025 Africa U17 Cup of Nations tourney after defeating Ghana’s Starlets by 3-2 in a hard-fought third place game yesterday, at the WAFU B U17 Championship.

Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets have qualified for the semi-final of the ongoing WAFU Zone B Under-17 Championship after defeating Togo 3-0 in Accra, Ghana.

Recall that the game was initially scheduled for Wednesday evening, but was postponed to this morning due to a heavy downpour.

The convincing victory yesterday morning ensured the Eaglets top Group B with seven points and will face Cote d’Ivoire in the semi-finals, while hosts Ghana will take on Burkina Faso in the other semi-final match.

The two finalists will book their tickets for the next edition of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
