Veteran Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele has revealed that she learnt movie production by watching Tyler Perry’s films, describing the American filmmaker as her role model.

Speaking in a recent interview with Bella Naija, Akindele said she has remained successful in the film industry by constantly reinventing herself and embracing change throughout her career.

She explained that she is always focused on evolving creatively and challenging herself after every success rather than remaining in one space.

Akindele also addressed the debate over filmmakers using dance as a promotional tool, saying creators should be free to adopt strategies that help connect their films with audiences.

The award-winning filmmaker’s comments come as she continues to rank among Nollywood’s most successful producers, with several record-breaking box office releases.
