FG Reacts to Transparency International’s 2022 Corruption Index

The Federal Government has reacted to the ratings by Transparency International released on Monday, where Nigeria ranks 150 out of 180 countries on the latest Corruption Perception Index (CPI) 2022.

The Minister of Information, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, while fielding questions from State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) briefing in Abuja, said the Federal Government is unbothered about the ratings, arguing that the government has very impressive records based on achievements by the EFCC and the ICPC among others.

Citing instances where returned assets and funds have been channeled to developing infrastructure and welfare projects, the Minister asserted that the government’s anti-corruption drive has been successful.
