FG Grants Nigerian Citizenship To 385 Foreigners

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the granting of Nigerian citizenship to 385 applicants who have met the constitutional and administrative requirements.

Briefing newsmen after the FEC meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, in Abuja, the Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola said from the figure, 317 were granted citizenship by naturalization while 68 were by registration.

Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister also disclosed that the council approved the full business case for a project on National Fire Detection and Alarm System incorporating life safety system, networking, monitoring and dispersion at real time.

On his part, the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, said FEC approved over N1.5 trillion for the construction and rehabilitation of roads covering over 700 kilometres to link eleven states across the Federation, which will be executed under the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) Tax Credit Scheme.
