The Minister Of Works Senator Dave Umahi has said that contractors handling four ongoing projects are ineligible to bid for new ones until they deliver on the projects they are handling.
Umahi, who stated this yesterday as he addressed all Federal contractors across the country, noted that the decision aims to ensure that contractors commit their full attention and resources to ongoing projects, and timely delivery.
He also hinted that Mr President has also approved funding for over 60 new contracts, which are projects that were abandoned.
The minister, who emphasized the importance of contractors adhering to project timelines, maintaining sites, and providing a clear breakdown of expenses, further laid down strict terms for contract termination in cases of non-compliance.
He however directed contractors handling its road projects to report to the site within 14 days, as failure to comply with the directive would lead to the termination of any existing contract.
