Federal Government signs MoU with US Space Agency to send first Nigerian to space

Nigeria is set to send the first citizen to space, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Space Research and Development Agency and the Space Exploration and Research Agency, USA.

Nigeria is set to send the first citizen to space, with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the National Space Research and Development Agency and the Space Exploration and Research Agency, USA.

The agreement aims to foster the development of critical technologies and infrastructure required for human missions beyond Earth, and will also see a Nigerian land in space.

At the signing ceremony which took place yesterday in Abuja, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji, said the partnership is a testament to Nigeria’s commitment to advancing its capabilities in space exploration and placing Nigeria as a key player in global space exploration.
