Federal Government Procures 40 Evacuation Buses At $1.2m; Says It Will Prioritise Rescue Of Women and Children in Sudan.

The Federal Government has said that it is procuring 40 luxury buses toward the evacuation of Nigerians trapped in Sudan.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, earlier today disclosed that the buses are expected to cost the government 1.2 million dollars.

Speaking to media during a briefing after the Federal Executive Council Meeting, Mr Onyeama stated that it will evacuate citizens within days despite the 72 hour ceasefire agreement in Sudan.

According to him, the government has concluded talks with the Sudanese government and they are on same page. He further noted that during the evacuations; priority will not be accorded any diplomat, adding that the government will also be prioritizing women and children.
