The Federal Government has launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) training programme aimed at equipping 6,000 senior secondary school teachers across Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The initiative, organized by the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), seeks to modernize teaching methods and enhance students’ learning experiences through AI integration.
During the launch, the Minister of Education, Dr. Olatunji Alausa, unveiled the minimum standards for senior secondary education, emphasizing the need for educators to embrace technological advancements. He urged teachers to adopt AI-driven tools in classrooms, ensuring that Nigeria’s education sector keeps pace with global trends.
The training programme reflects the government’s commitment to leveraging technology for educational transformation, equipping teachers with AI knowledge to foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovative learning approaches among students.
