The Federal Executive Council has approved the ban of Single-use plastics across all Federal Government parastatals and agencies, to prevent environmental pollution.

Briefing newsmen after the FEC meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, Minister of State for Environment, Ishaq Salako said the ban is to align with climate change policies and to protect the ecosystem and ensure biodiversity.

Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris said the Council stepped down deliberations on the much anticipated new National Minimum wage memorandum.

He disclosed that President Bola Tinubu will embark on further consultations with State Governors, Private sector, Organised Labour and other relevant stakeholders on the appropriate amount to be paid as new National minimum wage to workers before an Executive bill is sent to the National Assembly.
