The Federal Government has approved N4bn for conditional cash transfers to at least 10 million displaced households in Nigeria, and N2bn in interest-free loans for rural farmers to boost food production and self-sufficiency.
Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Professor Nentawe Yilwada, says the launch of the 2025 Nigeria Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan yesterday at the United Nations House, was part of efforts to address the country’s deepening humanitarian crisis.
Yilwada said the cash transfer programme will commence in February and continue through April, focusing on displaced families, particularly in the Northeast.
