Senator Francis Fadahunsi, representing Osun East, has denied directing his supporters to attack or kill Accord Party members and their families ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Police questioned Fadahunsi on Wednesday at the Osun State Police Command in Osogbo over a viral video linked to the allegation.

Following the interrogation,the senator said the video distorted his words. He explained that his reference to “killing” the Accord Party meant defeating it through votes, not physical attacks.

Fadahunsi also said he was responding to alleged attacks on APC members in Ilesa and other parts of Osun State, insisting that his comments addressed the reported violence.

Governor Ademola Adeleke had earlier accused the senator of inciting violence and called for his arrest and investigation, describing the alleged remarks as a national security threat.

Amnesty International also urged authorities to investigate the allegation and hold Fadahunsi accountable if the claims are proven.

The police confirmed that officers had interrogated the senator and said the investigation remains ongoing. The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Aniete Iniedu Okokon, said authorities will announce the outcome once the investigation is complete.
