FAAN clarifies deleted tweet on Lagos Int’l Airport Runway, says closure temporary for repairs, flights ongoing

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has CLARIFIED its deleted tweet on the “temporary” closure of an “aspect” of the runway at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) in the Ikeja are of Lagos State.

FAAN spokesperson, Faithful Hope-Ivbaze, yesterday clarified that only an aspect of the runway is closed for repairs and flight operations are not disrupted.

In a now-deleted tweet on its official handle, the airport managers had notified the public that runway 18R/36L of the Murtala Muhammed Int’l Airport, Lagos had been closed for 8 weeks for Maintenance work to be carried out, adding that Taxi way B-18L will be used for all flight operations.

FAAN subsequently deleted the tweet shortly after it was posted.
