As Muslims in Lagos and beyond prepare to celebrate the Eid El-Fitr. Celebration, the General Manager of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Olalekan Bakare-Oki has extended his warm felicitations, urging the faithful to sustain the virtues of discipline, patience and civic responsibility cultivated during the holy month of Ramadan.
While conveying his goodwill, the LASTMA General Manager reaffirmed the Authority’s firm commitment to enforcing traffic laws, stressing that there will be zero tolerance for all forms of traffic violations before, during, and after the festive period.
He advised motorists, commercial drivers and other road users to avoid reckless driving, illegal parking, route violations, unauthorised off-loading, driving against traffic (one-way) and other unsafe practices that could endanger lives and disrupt traffic flow.
Bakare-Oki further assured residents and visitors that the Authority has put in place a comprehensive and well-coordinated traffic management plan to ensure smooth vehicular movement across major roads and busy areas within the State.
He disclosed that personnel have been strategically deployed to key locations, including highways, major junctions and areas expected to witness increased socio-religious activities in order to prevent congestion and respond swiftly to any traffic-related issues.
