Edo Queens Thrash Ethiopian Opponent in CAF Women’s Champions League Group Opener

Edo Queens, Nigeria’s representative at this year’s CAF Women’s Champions League in Morocco, got their debut campaign off to a perfect start as they thrashed CBE of Ethiopia 3-0 in their first game in Group B on Sunday.

Goals from Emem Essien, Folashade Ijamilusi and Chukwuamaka Osigwe sealed the comfortable win for the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) champions.

Edo Queens will in their second group game on Wednesday, November 13, face fellow debutant FC Masar of Egypt, who stunned two-time Women’s Champions League winners Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa 1-0 in their opening fixture.

The 4th edition of the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League will run till November 23 2024.
