The Initial Public Offering of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals FZE has officially opened, following weeks of anticipation.
The public offer commenced on Monday, September 14, 2026, with 4.1 billion new ordinary shares offered at ₦525 per share. If fully subscribed, the offer could raise about ₦2.15 trillion, making it one of the biggest transactions in Nigeria’s capital market.
The launch event in Lagos attracted prominent dignitaries, including the Ooni of Ife, the Olu of Warri, and leaders of the stock exchanges in Kenya and Botswana, alongside key figures from Nigeria’s financial and business sectors.
The offer gives Nigerians and other eligible investors an opportunity to acquire shares in the refinery, which is currently capable of processing about 700,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
Dangote Group President, Aliko Dangote, has said the IPO is intended to broaden ownership of the refinery and allow ordinary Nigerians, including workers and small investors, to participate in its growth.
The refinery, which began operations in 2024 after an estimated $20 billion investment, is also planning to expand its capacity to 1.4 million barrels per day by 2029.
