Premier League side Chelsea have appointed former Leicester boss Enzo Maresca as their new manager on a five-year deal to replace Mauricio Pochettino.
The Italian, who until last year was Pep Guardiola’s assistant at English champions Manchester City, was appointed by the Foxes in June 2023 and led them to the Championship title last season.
The 44-year-old’s release clause at the King Power Stadium is understood to have been between £8m and £10m, and he would now take on a relatively young Chelsea squad, with an average age of 25, as the London side continues it rediscovery project.
