Burkina Faso beat Cote D’Ivoire in WAFU B U17 final, as Nigeria qualify for U17 AFCON

Nigerian Golden Eaglets earned a qualification spot for the 2025 Africa U17 Cup of Nations tourney after defeating Ghana’s Starlets by 3-2 in a hard-fought third place game yesterday, at the WAFU B U17 Championship.

With Cote d’Ivoire as hosts and guaranteed a slot at the Africa U17 Cup of Nations, Burkina Faso (no matter the result of the final) and the third-place winner in the earlier game, were assured of berths in the AFCON in Abidjan.

Meanwhile, Burkina Faso have replaced the Golden Eaglets as WAFU B U17 champions after they beat Cote d’Ivoire 3-1 last night.
