President Muhammadu Buhari has launched the Nigeria Agenda 2050 aimed at increasing real Gross Domestic Product growth by seven per cent and creating 165 million new jobs across the country.
Speaking at the launch before the commencement of this week’s Federal Executive Council meeting, President Buhari described the Agenda 2050 as a prospective plan designed to transform the country into an Upper-Middle Income Country with a significant improvement in per capita income.
The Finance Minister, Mrs Zainab Ahmed had added that with the expected improved capital accumulation, investment as a ratio of GDP is expected to increase from the current 29.40 per cent to 40.11 per cent by 2050.
The council observed a minute’s silence in honour of Late Musa Gwadabe, a former Minister of Solid Minerals Development, who passed away on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, aged 86.
