Manchester United secured their first Premier League win of the season on Sunday, defeating Ipswich Town 5-2 at Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes scoring three times.

Ipswich stunned United first when Leif Davis opened the scoring in the 29th minute with a strike that deflected in off the crossbar. United responded before half-time as Fernandes finished a chance created by Matheus Cunha.

United took control after the break when Jacob Greaves turned Harry Maguire’s effort into his own net. Greaves then fouled Cunha inside the area, allowing Fernandes to convert from the penalty spot and put United ahead.

Fernandes completed his hat-trick in the 68th minute, finishing from close range after Ipswich blocked efforts from Kobbie Mainoo and Bryan Mbeumo. Mbeumo later added United’s fifth after Fernandes set him up in the 82nd minute.

Chuba Akpom scored a late consolation for Ipswich, but United held on comfortably to claim their first league victory of the season.
