Ahead of the General election, the African Union Development Agency – NEPAD has warned that the tension-induced element which has pervaded the environment prior to the Election still persists and is waxing stronger, which could be a cause for great concern.
The Chief Executive of the African Union Development Agency – NEPAD, Princess Gloria Akobundu, who made this known yesterday in Abuja said if the concerns are left unchecked and unmanaged, it may result in fraud, vote-buying and other varieties of election manipulation.
She however noted that Nigeria has earned high commendations for best practices worthy of emulation in areas such as Electoral Reform, Pension Reform, Tax law Reform, Digitalization of Performance Management System, Judiciary Reform, Fight Against Corruption and combating Illicit financial flows amongst others.
