The minister of art, culture and creative economy, Hannatu Musawa, on Sunday, said she has not in any way breached the laws of the land by serving as the Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria despite being a serving National Youth Service Corp member.
The minister in a statement yesterday admitted that she was still undergoing the compulsory one-year programme mandatory for high institution graduates under the age of 30, but argued that presently no law of Nigeria or any part of the constitution and NYSC Act states that a serving Corp member cannot be appointed by the President of Nigeria
Masuwa who graduated in 2001 is in her eight months into the NYSC programme, but was reacting to attacks and calls for her sack, while she insisted she will continue in office with the assurance that the NYSC programme would not in any way impede on her Ministerial assignment.
