Adeyemi Urges Tinubu to Order Independent PFIPC Probe

Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), has called on President Bola Tinubu to establish an independent panel to investigate the controversy surrounding the counci

Addressing the President, Adeyemi argued that the investigation should go beyond the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), saying an independent panel would ensure transparency and public confidence in the process.

He proposed that the panel should include representatives of civil society organisations, independent media, international financial observers, and human rights groups to guarantee neutrality.

While commending Tinubu for ordering an investigation into the alleged ₦1.3 billion PFIPC allocation in the 2026 Appropriation Bill, Adeyemi maintained that an agency under the Federal Government should not be solely responsible for probing allegations involving government officials.

Adeyemi also denied any wrongdoing and alleged that senior government officials, including Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, attempted to frustrate his activities after he refused to comply with certain directives.
