President Bola Tinubu has praised Nigerian security agencies following the rescue of 308 kidnap victims in what authorities describe as one of the largest single-day rescue operations in recent years.

The victims include 163 residents of Woro Community in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State and 145 others from Niger State.

According to the Presidency, security operatives rescued the victims during a coordinated operation in the Kainji Lake National Park Forest in Niger State. The mission involved personnel from the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC), Armed Forces, Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigeria Police Force.

Commending the operation, Tinubu said the successful rescue reflects the growing cooperation and effectiveness of the country’s security agencies.

“This operation shows the increasing efficiency of our security services and their commitment to protecting Nigerian lives,” the President said.

He also applauded the bravery of the officers involved and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security infrastructure, tackling criminal networks and restoring peace in affected communities.

Tinubu assured Nigerians that efforts to combat kidnapping, banditry and other security threats would continue across the country.
