Erelu Abiola Dosunmu attracted top dignitaries last weekend to her 70th birthday celebration. The event kicked off with a Mass at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Victoria Island, Lagos, and then at Terra Kulture Arena, Victoria Island, for a Night of Songs of Praise and Thanksgiving. The birthday party was preceded by a lecture with the theme “Threats to Peace and Security Around The Globe Given The Present State of The World’s Insecurity,” at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos. The Guest Speaker was Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, Nigeria’s former Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN) and former Foreign Affairs Minister. Radiantly dressed in her trademark white outfit, the celebrant acknowledged cheers from her guests including Africa’s richest man – Alhaji Aliko Dangote, billionaire Fortes Oil Chairman – Femi Otedola, Africa’s richest woman – Chief Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, Queen Wuraola Ogunwusi – wife of Ooni of Ife, Prince Samuel Adedoyin, Olorogun Sunny Kuku, Chief Sunny Asemota and wife, Chief Mrs. Ireti Asemota, Chief Mrs. Abba Folawiyo, Sen. Florence Ita Giwa, Chief Mrs. Bola Shagaya, Publisher Vanguard Newspapers – uncle Sam Amuka Pemu, Founder and Publisher BOS Show and Magazine – Prince Bisi Olatilo, Mrs. Abike Dabiri, among several others. This year marks the 43rd year of her reign as the Erelu Kuti of Lagos, Born in Kano into the royal family of Prince Adewunmi and Ajoke Dosumu of Lagos Island, she studied business administration in London before delving into business.
